As an active dad of two lively kids, ages 7 and 10, finding ways to build lasting memories through play is a cherished aspect of my parenting journey. Our story begins with my son Liam, who recently turned 7, standing in the center of our green backyard, clutching a water blaster almost as big as him. Eyes filled with ambition and cheeks rosy from excitement, he couldn’t wait to challenge his older sister, Ella, who matched his enthusiasm with her own blaster. Their giggles echoed through the neighborhood, an unspoken invitation for me to join their water warfare.
Having spent countless hours in video games, I was a bit rusty when it came to the good old outdoor play, but how could I resist their joy?
